NEW DATA PROTECTION RULES

(AND HOW ALPHA DOG TRAINING IS TRYING TO FOLLOW THEM…)
The new General Data Protection Regulations is designed to reduce the risk of your personal details getting out, and give you control over the data that companies hold about you. As a small business I have put together these details for my website.

If you are current or past client and you are in any way concerned about data I hold, please email me at jacquitraining@hotmail.com bearing in mind that I may need more information as to who your pet was and name to identify you especially if you are a past client.

As a dog training and behaviour business I have to keep details of my clients to enable me to provide the service you need to help your animal.
Clients of Alpha Dog Training's data including name, address, email address, and telephone numbers are held on my computer which is only accessed by password known to myself only. I am the sole person to control and deal with all my clients data.

Animal Details and behaviour records are held on the same computer. You have a right to request your pet’s history records at any time. Records must be kept for a reasonable length of time in case of claim or complaint or a later follow up by myself or another behaviourist. Records will be removed 5 years after my seeing your pet.

Clients may contact me to make appointments or to discuss cases by email, telephone, text message, or through Messenger. I will reply using one of these methods. I do not use your postal address, email, phone number, or messenger accounts for any reason other than to discuss your pet’s health care or for reasons associated with case with you. I do not give your contact details to anyone else.

Your data is kept on a password locked home computer with up to date virus and malware protection software. The computer is kept at my home and is not accessible by anyone else. The records are only accessible from my computer and not on any tablet or phone Some phone numbers are kept on a mobile phone used for personal and business use. This is locked when not in use and protected by relevant anti-virus software.. Paper records (forms and questionaires ) are also kept in my office at home in a locked desk. Basic contact details are written in a paper day diary to allow visits to take place.

Payments are usually by cheque or cash or bank transfer. I do not store credit card or bank details as I do not use credit card or bank card transactions. Any refunds through my bank account to any clients account would be removed after 3 months by deleting their bank details.

I do not pass any details on to anyone else unless in discussion with a clients veterinary surgeon with prior agreement with you or as a referral from the veterinary surgeon.

I will not contact you unless by email, text, telephone or messenger for anything other than to do with your pets training or behaviour programme.
